MINT PHYSICIAN STAFFING RECOGNIZES NATIONAL LOCUM TENENS WEEK,
IMPACT OF TEMPORARY PHYSICIAN STAFFING ON U.S. HEALTHCARE DELIVERY

Houston, TX: In conjunction with National Locum Tenens Week, Mint Physician Staffing has announced its annual initiative to honor the temporary physicians who provide coverage at medical facilities combating the current U.S. doctor shortage.

Shortly after last year’s inaugural National Locum Tenens Week, the city of Houston and its surrounding areas were severely impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Mint and its roster of local locum tenens physicians played an integral part in the immediate medical response.

As we approach the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey, this year’s National Locum Tenens Week is especially significant as it reminds us of just how important locum tenens physicians are in today’s healthcare industry.

National Locum Tenens Week occurs the second full week in August each year. Led by the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations® (NALTO®), the program’s annual platform provides the staffing industry a forum to collectively recognize the vital role that locum tenens doctors serve in the delivery of medicine today.

Stuart McKelvey

In 1996, Stuart McKelvey became employee number thirteen at Monster.com and grew in to the role of Senior Vice President by 1998. In 2001, Stuart began leading Monster Worldwide’s Asia Pacific region, generating over $400 million in sales across ten countries as group President. In 2005, he became the CEO of TMP Directional Marketing with the private equity company Audax Group. After these successes, Stuart made his move to purchase and build his own recruiting company.

In October of 2008, Stuart acquired the assets of Prime Staff—a Houston-based locum tenens company with a successful 12-year track record of placing physicians throughout the southeastern United States. After an overhaul of the business and re-branding to Mint Physician Staffing, the company has since quadrupled in size in terms of both employee count and revenue.
