Giving Back to the Community – Mint Physician Staffing

Giving Back to the Community

Mint Physician Staffing is dedicated to supporting its community and the causes that its employees care about.

THE MCKELVEY FOUNDATION

Each year, Mint Physician Staffing donates a portion of its profits to the McKelvey Foundation, a charitable organization created in 2000 by Andrew McKelvey, founder of Monster.com, as a way of giving back to the communities that gave him the opportunity to succeed as an entrepreneur.

Mint President Stuart McKelvey continues his family’s legacy with philanthropic support that enables the students, faculty, and staff at Emory University, as well as those working in the health science sector to advance their meaningful work.

Recipients of funds from The McKelvey Foundation also include the Andrew J. McKelvey Director’s Fund, the Andrew J McKelvey Professorship in Surgery, and the McKelvey Lung Transplant Center, Georgia’s only lung transplant center.

GIVE MS THE BOOT

Mint makes an annual donation to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and country music star Clay Walker’s “Give MS the Boot” event, which supports the outreach and education efforts and research grants from Clay Walker’s nonprofit, Band Against MS. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo—the largest of its kind in the world–has been committed to the youth of Texas and has presented nearly 18,000 scholarships since the first scholarship was awarded in 1957. Currently, more than 2,000 students are on Rodeo scholarships, attending more than 80 different Texas colleges and universities.

Both events are sponsored by Dr. Kelly Larkin, President & CEO of Medical Center Emergency Physicians (MCEP)

BP MS 150

The BP MS 150 is a two-day fundraising bike ride organized by the National MS Society. The ride is the largest event of its kind in North America, with 13,000 cyclists, 3,500 volunteers, and countless spectators along the route and at the finish line in Austin.

Each year, Mint sponsors Crissy Mascorro, Senior Account Manager, whose participation helps fund multiple sclerosis research and deliver services to those who face the challenges of MS every day.
